Philippines Police Raid IWebmasters, Latona Says

MANILA — Internet company iWebmasters apparently was raided Wednesday by Philippines police who were said to be looking for companies running live sex operations.

IWebmasters, which bills itself as an offshore staff leasing service, is located in the Salcedo Village area of Makati City, an affluent business community within Manila.

Rick Latona, who leads the company, said that none of iWebmaster’s employees work with porn or anything that could be considered illegal, according to a posting on GFY.

“We don't shoot porn. We don't sell porn. We don't run cams or chat rooms,” said Latona, a former owner of numerous adult companies, including Dollars.com, Consumption Junctions and CJ Bucks. He also owns thousands of domain names.

Latona said that police eventually left and employees went back to work. However, the raid cost the company lost productivity.

“It's been an expensive day,” he said. “Both the evening shift and the day shift have lost a full day's work.”

Latona also said that four other companies were raided by police.

Direct calls to iWebmasters and Latona were not immediately returned to XBiz by this posting Wednesday night.
